Al Maha Boys & Girls Schools QATAR

Al Maha Boys and Al Maha Girls are English and Arabic schools situated in QATAR. Both schools deliver Cambridge International Examination Curriculum. The schools mission focus is to provide high quality education aimed at nurturing the development of the whole child and providing a solid foundation in all basic subject areas.

InterFocus were commissioned to design and provide new science classrooms and prep rooms, as well as installing and supplying other classroom furniture for both the Al Maha boys and girls schools.

This project had a wide scope and materials were chosen to complement each area and to ensure long lasting durability. The classroom layouts were designed to provide a calm, modern learning environment in keeping with the schools’ mission focus.

Perhaps the largest challenge of this project was the location of the site. The large distance between the InterFocus HQ and the designated site for the school added a layer of difficulty to the logistics of planning and delivering this design.

However, constant contact with the client meant that all parties were fully informed of every step of the process and all potential problems were avoided.

We made a number of visits to Qatar to meet with the client and view the school as it was being built. Once the design was approved and the entire job went into production, we had to follow a tight deadline to ensure that we could meet the shipping dates and on-site installation dates.

A total of 3 shipping containers were packed with the all the components required, our installation staff then flew out 8 weeks later to oversee the offloading of the containers and unpacking of the classroom furniture. With the aid of local labour our staff then began the installation over a period of 3 weeks. The entire project was completed on-time and on-budget.
