Class II Microbiological Safety Cabinets
An open fronted cabinet which utilises vertical laminar flow to provide clean & sterile working conditions. A proportion of the air contained within the cabinet is exhausted via H.E.P.A filter whilst the remainder is recirculated.

Class II Microbiological Safety Cabinets provide the high levels of operator protection required by BS5726 and are suitable for working with category II pathogens.

With the addition of a second H.E.P.A filter located in the base, Class II Cabinets can be used without ducting and as a recirculating cabinet.

Advanced ergonimics & easy access Class II Cabinets have a backwards inclined front door that eliminates reflections from the glass and provides a comfortable working position. The glass door slides up under the front panel when necessary.

Excellent Lighting
The fluorescent tubes are positioned vertically at the front of the cabinet, lighting the whole working area evenly without causing shadows. The tubes are hidden by the corner profilesm thus eliminating glare. The lighting intensity in the whole working area is more than 1000 lux.

Uniform Flow
The smooth wall surfaces ensure a steady, directional air flow over the whole working area.

Efficient Sound Insulation
Special attention has been given to the sound insulation. The unique design of the Class II Cabinet allows the sound level to be kept to a minimum, less than 55dBA. The quality of the sound is a low hum that does not strain the ears, so even working for longer periods is not tiring.

Fan
The fan unit is a virtually silent, voltage regulated , double inlet centrifugal fan which is balanced both statically and dynamically. It is insulated from other components by antivibration mountings and the r.p.m setting can be adjusted steplessly as the H.E.P.A filters fill up. The motor has a thermal overload protection.

Filters
The filters used are leak tested H.E.P.A filters providing a guaranteed minimum filtering efficiency of 99.999% for particles with an average diameter of 0.3 micron or larger when tested to BS3928 sodium chloride flame test. The filters are mounted on a double seal surface of the u-profile, thus ensuring a hermetic seal between the filter and the cabinet. In normal use the filter has a service life of more than 5 years.
Easy to Use Switches
All operating switches and meters are 150cm above floor level, giving easy accessibility from the seated position. The membrane pad switches are easy to keep clean.

Ease of Maintenance
A new method of fastening the glass side panels has eliminated unecessary dust-collecting grooves. The BR models are equipped with an easily cleaned stainless steel basin under the worktop. All the materials used have been chosen for their good resistance to chemicals. A hinged front panel allows all maintenance to be carried out from the front of the cabinet. The cabinet operates on 220/240V, 50Hz single phase current. Plug in connection. Cabinet selection and installation should be carried out in conjunction with reference to BS5726, and the report issued by the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens.
