Bicyle Therapeutics cambridge Project

The Bicycle technology, which arose from the research conducted by Sir Greg Winter, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering work in phage display, has led to significant therapeutic advancements in antibody-based therapeutics, as well as bicyclic peptide (Bicycle) drug discovery and development. Moreover, as a transatlantic company, Bicycle Therapeutics are headquartered in the life science cluster within Cambridge, UK and the biotech hub of Boston, Mass., USA.

The Portway Building, initially fitted out by SDC Builders with a generic lab layout for a potential client, underwent a transformation when Bicycle Therapeutics desired to move their main facility to this location. In order to cater to their specific needs, Bicycle Therapeutics enlisted the help of InterFocus to design and execute a more customized laboratory fit out. This turnkey laboratory facility included the incorporation of new mechanical and electrical plant and equipment, while still utilizing as much of the existing laboratory furniture as possible, albeit with necessary amendments. At InterFocus, we have a proven track record of providing turnkey lab solutions, ranging from £1M to £3.5M, in the past. However, this project was our biggest multi million pound project yet and on a tight time scale. We were able to commence work as soon as SDC provided the handover certificate for the building. Despite the tight deadline, we successfully completed the entire project from start to finish in just six months. By choosing InterFocus for your laboratory fit out needs, you can expect exceptional customisation and expertise, even when faced with complex projects on a tight timeline.
