Welsh Water Bretton Turnkey Laboratory Project
Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, operated by not-for-profit Glas Cymru, plays a vital role in delivering essential water services across Wales. With over £3 billion invested in capital projects since 2001, Welsh Water continues to prioritise innovation and compliance within its operations. Unlike traditional utilities, Welsh Water has no shareholders and operates independently from government funding, relying instead on capital market financing.
In support of its regulatory obligations for water quality, Welsh Water commissioned a new laboratory facility within its existing Bretton Treatment Works. The project involved transforming an office area into a fully operational laboratory for processing both raw and potable water samples—critical for meeting UK drinking water compliance standards.
