CHemetall Turnkey Laboratory Project

The Surface Treatment global business unit, which operates under the Chemetall brand, is a leading supplier of applied surface treatments within BASF’s Coatings division. Additionally, Chemetall develops and manufactures tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface technology. These solutions serve to protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process, and ensure excellent coating adhesion.

Furthermore, the products provided by Chemetall are utilized across a variety of industries and end markets, such as the automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing, and metal forming sectors.

Chemetall is a traditional company that was founded in the 19th century as part of the German metal company (mg), underwent a significant change in 2016 when it was integrated into BASF’s Coatings division as the Surface Treatment global business. This integration has resulted in a shift in the company’s focus, allowing it to expand its reach and better serve its customers. As a result, the Surface Treatment global business unit is now headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and has 40 subsidiaries and 21 production sites worldwide, enabling it to provide its services on a global scale.
